Discover Dogs 2011

We had a great day out at Discover Dogs. It is a brilliant day out for the family as well as dog owners. We were lucky enough to meet Anthony Head who played the King in Merlin and the librarian in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Along with the ladies from Barking At The moon Anna Webb and Jo good the judges picked Milo as the overall winner of Scruffts.
Around the breed booths we met many different breeds including some unusual ones, visit our Facebook page to see more of our pictures of the dogs and their owners.

Competitions!

The summer weather may have disappeared but the competitions are still going on. We currently have two competitions running.

The first is in Your Dog magazine on page 8. The prize is a free bag of dog food of your choice from the Salters range. We had a lovely call from a customer today, telling us that she uses the food as a treat as well as the dogs meal. She was out walking and met another dog owner whose dogs would not leave her alone as they were wanting the Salters food she was carrying in her pocket! At Salters we would not feed something to our dogs we would not eat ourselves, so we take great care to select the best quality ingredients.

Our second competition is for a pair of tickets to Discover Dogs 2011 takes place between 12 - 13 November 2011 at Earls Court 1, London. Tickets to this event are priced at £14 for adults and £11 for children and OAPs. Discover Dogs is a fun day out and you can learn about 200 breeds as well as enjoy the Scruffts Family Crossbred Dog of the Year and the Companion Dog Club finals as well many trade stands and other events.

To win the tickets to Discover Dogs all you need to do is go to our web site www.salterspetfood.com and find the answer to this question: how many grams of our Energy food do Salters recommend for a 20KG dog? Send your answers to :

Should you be wondering which stand to look for

Should you be wondering which stand to look for at shows here is a photo of us at the Suffolk show earlier this year.

Autumn arrived with a light frost on the cars this morning...

Autumn arrived with a light frost on the cars this morning, but the day has turned into a lovely warm sunny day and the dogs have been basking in the sunshine. As the days shorten the summer companion shows are coming to an end, :( but perhaps now is the time to have fun at dog training clubs and perhaps tell fellow club members about the fun CDC members have through out the summer?
All dogs pedigree or crossbred can be registered with the Kennel Clubs Companion Dog Club register. Many people think that unless your dog is a pedigree the KC will not register your dog. The CDC has it's own facebook group, where members can chat about the their dogs, share news of their winning days out and ask questions of the Kennel Club.

Winning line up from the Bicester & Finmere Show Salters obedience class.
Smudge the collie cross tackles the gate in the good manners section of the obedience class.
This weekend we are at Newark Robin Hood Game and Country Show, hope you meet you all there.
